The Artist's Vision

Traditional depictions of Sisyphus focus on his punishment. This sculpture focuses on something else entirely: the strength to endure it. While Zeus condemned Sisyphus to push a boulder uphill for eternity, the myth never explains where he found the will to continue. That question became the foundation of this work.

Unlike the perfectly round boulders often shown in classical illustrations, the stone in this sculpture is intentionally irregular. Real challenges are rarely smooth or predictable. They arrive in unexpected shapes, creating obstacles that demand persistence, adaptability, and courage.
